This is a fantastically empowering book by a first-time young author - I love it! Hannah has taken the time to both explain each asana (yoga pose) and why other kids would be interested in doing yoga. In a world where kids typically spent over 40 hours a week in front of tv or other plugged-in devices, Hannah shows a great alternative and notes yoga's power to help kids de-stress to boot. Worksheets help users track their time on the mat and the whole book is very accessible for children as well as adults. Kids instinctively trust other kids. If you have children who really need help relaxing or getting a gentle introduction into exercise, I highly recommend "Yoga Basics for Kidz".

It's not often you find a book that is geared towards kids written from a kids perspective. You can tell Hannah understands how kids think (after all she is one). She wrote this in such a way that it inspires kids to want to at least try Yoga. I couldn't ask for anything more. I hope she continues to write books for kids, she definitely has the talent to do so.

This book is amazingly well written with detailed instructions, photos and worksheets to follow and a good bit of humor. Even more amazing is that the author is just 13 years old. Hannah Hoobyar is a breath of fresh air! From the introduction, to the descriptions of the poses, to the reasons why yoga is great for kidz of all ages, Hannah shares all of this as if she's talking to her best friends. When talking with kids, (I know, I have 15 nieces and nephews) sometimes we adults forget the minute details necessary to convey our thoughts clearly and effectively to those who haven't had as much life experience as we've had. I'm very impressed with the level of detail the author provides in her instructions and descriptions. If you've never tried yoga before, this book will give you the confidence to try - no matter what your age. If you're an old hand at it, Hannah gives you the ways and means to easily share it with those you care about.
